Leveraging the distinctive cross-disciplinary education system of HKUST(GZ), Society Hub has attracted distinguished faculty members from world-class universities, each bringing a unique perspective and exceptional expertise in teaching and research united by a shared vision. We have been strategically advancing our efforts in four critical thrust areas: Carbon Neutrality and Climate Change (CNCC); Financial Technology (FTEC); Innovation, Policy and Entrepreneurship (IPE); and Urban Governance and Design (UGOD). Each of these areas addresses some of the most pressing social issues of our time, aligning with national development strategies and market needs.

We aim to nurture socially conscious talents with cutting-edge analytical skills and an open and growing mindset, ready to tackle social and economic issues and contribute to the knowledge economy in a digitally connected society and AI-reshaping world. Our students are expected to take the lead in innovation of technology, policy, culture and spaces in which we live and interact. We had an extraordinary year of amazing growth in our students and faculty. We proudly presented our Class 2024, the first cohort of graduates, to society.
