HKUST(GZ) Announces Early Admissions for Two MSc Programs: MSc in Carbon Neutrality and Green Finance, and MSc in Technology and Policy

The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (Guangzhou) [HKUST(GZ)] has announced early admissions for two Master of Science programs: MSc in Carbon Neutrality and Green Finance, and MSc in Technology and Policy. This early admission round offers several advantages, including eligibility for merit-based scholarships covering 25% to 50% of first-year tuition fees and early confirmation of study places.

To qualify for early admission, applicants should meet one or more of the following criteria:

  • Hold a bachelor's degree from a university listed in the QS World University Rankings Top 100 or from institutions recognized under China's "Project 985" or "Project 211."
  • Rank within the top 5% of their graduating class.
  • Have three or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Demonstrate exceptional achievements through awards or publications.

The MSc in Technology and Policy program prepares students to address the governance challenges posed by emerging technologies. Both programs leverage HKUST(GZ)'s strategic location in China's most dynamic economic region, the Greater Bay Area, offering students unparalleled access to industries and innovations. The curriculum combines rigorous academic training with practical applications, including internship opportunities with partner organizations.

For regular admission, applicants must hold a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution, which must be completed by August 2026, as well as proof of English proficiency. Waivers for English proficiency may be available for qualifying candidates; please refer to the official website for further details. The regular application deadline for enrollment in the 2026/27 academic year is July 15, 2026, while the early admission round closes on September 30, 2025.
